lympi is a 14th century medieval village located 31 Km south of the town of Chios and 6 Km after Pyrgi on the road to Mesta. It has been designated a listed monument. It keeps its houses tied tightly together in what seems like a closed and compact form. The streets are cobbled and narrow. Ο Ανάβατος, ο λεγόμενος Μιστράς του Αιγαίου, βρίσκεται στα Δυτικά της Χίου, ενώ είναι κτισμένος πάνω από έναν απότομο γκρεμό. Σε απόσταση 16 χιλιομέτρων από την πόλη της Χίου, κρυμμένος από τα αδιάκριτα βλέμματα, δύσβατος στην ανάβασή του, σαν ένα κανονικό φρούριο, εντυπωσιάζει με την εμφάνισή του. Εδώ γράφτηκε ένα από τα κομμάτια της ιστορίας του νησιού, στην επανάσταση του 1821 και στις σφαγές του 1822. Ήταν ένας τόπος μαρτυρικός, καθώς φέρεται πως εκεί αυτοκτόνησαν, όπως στο Ζάλλογγο, Χιώτισσες κατά την Καταστροφή, για να μην πέσουν στα χέρια των Οθωμανών. Νέα Μονή

Η Νέα Μονή χτίστηκε τον 11ο αιώνα (ανάμεσα στο 1042-1056) και αφιερώθηκε στην Κοίμηση της Θεοτόκου. Καλύπτει μια έκταση 17000 τετραγωνικών μέτρων περίπου και βρίσκεται στο κέντρο του νησιού. Το Μοναστήρι κατατάσσεται στα μνημεία που είναι υπό την προστασία της Παγκόσμιας Κληρονομιάς της UNESCO. Περιλαμβάνει τον κύριο ναό, δύο μικρότερες εκκλησίες, την τράπεζα όπου δειπνούσαν οι μοναχοί, τα καταλύματα (κελιά) των μοναχών και υπόγειες δεξαμενές που δημιουργήθηκαν για την αποθήκευση νερού. Στο βορειοδυτικό τμήμα της Μονής υπάρχει ένας επιβλητικός αμυντικός πύργος. Όλα τα τμήματα του Μοναστηριού περιβάλλονται από ψηλά πέτρινα τείχη. Κάστρο της Χίου

Το Φρούριο της Χίου (Κάστρο) εκτείνεται στα βόρεια του κέντρου της πόλεως και αποτελεί τον περιτειχισμένο πυρήνα της από την εποχή της Γενουοκρατίας και μετά. Η είσοδος γίνεται από την κύρια Πύλη (Porta Maggiore) στο νότιο άκρο του, που κατασκευάσθηκε από τους Βενετούς το 1694, και από την κατεστραμμένη σήμερα “Επάνω Πόρτα” (Portello) στη ΒΔ πλευρά του. Κοντά στην πύλη και στο εσωτερικό του κάστρου βρίσκεται διώροφο κτίσμα, γνωστό ως “Παλάτι Ιουστινιάνι”.
